Hi, I’m Kerry Blanchard. I was born and raised in Staten Island, New York. I obtained a BA in Economics and worked as a financial Analyst for AT&T up until I had children. It was during this time my allure for medicine began. When my sons were 5 and 6, as a single Mom, I went back to school to become a Physician Assistant. I graduated with a BS from Wagner College and went on to get my Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. I am a dissertation away of obtaining my PhD in Health Related Sciences from Seton Hall University. Since 2004 I have worked in an Infectious Disease practice. I have an extensive background in HIV, liver disease, primary care, addiction medicine and weight loss management.
While I raised my sons Jake & Tyler in Northern NJ, the Army brought my older son Jake to Ft Hood. Visiting often while he was stationed here, I fell in love with Texas. I was even lucky enough to visit South Korea while he was on a rotational deployment there. After leaving the Army, Jake got an engineering job in Austin and Tyler was working remotely in Hoboken, New Jersey so they decided to get a house together here in Austin. Being extremely close to my sons and family meaning the most to me, I followed them out here. If you haven’t realized, I will travel the world for my sons! This last year brought many changes to our family. Jake moved to Georgetown to live with his girlfriend and her 2-year-old daughter, giving me a bonus granddaughter. Tyler still lives here in Austin a few blocks away from me and I became a grandma to his rescue pup – Jethro.
In my spare time you will often find me paddleboarding on Town Lake. I enjoy exploring central Texas and finding new restaurants, swimming holes, places to drop my board, and parks to hike. I absolutely love the Rodeo and PBR. Next up for me is learning the Texas two-step. I am excited and honored that Dr. Linebarger has entrusted me to help her out while she is on maternity leave.
