FAQ

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?

DPC is a model of primary care where patients pay a low monthly membership fee, regardless of insurance status, giving them access to quality primary care services. There are no hidden fees, no extra co-pays. We take the time to spend with you and get to know you. We believe health care should be affordable. We love our job just as much as you will love this innovative model of care.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes and no. Patients can use their insurance for any tests, labs or imaging although we are not responsible for reimbursement. We have access to greatly reduced prices for tests which often allows patients a better rate than their insurance would cover. Many of our patients, regardless of insurance status, prefer our negotiated rates because of price affordability and transparency. Regardless of insurance status, our patients pay a monthly membership fee which covers convenient same or next day appointments, as well as direct communication with your provider.

I have insurance, why should I pay a monthly fee?

The short answer is: For personal service without the bureaucracy. We are available by text or phone, usually the same day. There is no calling your doctor’s office and waiting days to get a response. Urgent care needs? We try to avoid you ever needing one again. We will also liaise with your specialists and help navigate the system with you. The convenience is priceless.

What is the Concierge membership?

Our Concierge membership is our premium package geared toward those with health insurance who aren't getting the care they want from a traditional fee-for-service practice.  Emphasizing prevention and wellness, Dr. Linebarger employs integrative approaches and longevity medicine and, guarantees same day appointments as well as access on evenings and weekends. We also offer appointments at your work or home, if requested (additional fees may apply if outside of Austin CBD).

What is Functional and Integrative Medicine?

Integrative medicine is a combination of Western Medicine with holistic approaches, focusing on preventive and natural treatments. Functional medicine is an evaluation of the root cause of the disease process with a deep dive into a patient’s health. Often functional medicine is used or required when conventional medicine and lab values are normal, yet patients still have symptoms of a disease process occurring. A deep dive into health using functional and integrative approaches require time to evaluate, diagnose, interpret, and manage.

Why do you offer med spa services?

Although we are a primary care practice, we focus heavily on anti-aging medicine. Aesthetic medicine is a branch of anti-aging that we are passionate about. We focus heavily on natural and subtle enhancements for artistic improvements of the face and body. There is no such thing as a minimum age! If you’ve always been interested in slowing the aging process on the outside then call us today. We specialize in men and first-timers!

What age would I be good candidate for HormoneReplacement Therapy (HRT)?

HRT spans a greater range than you may initially think. It is not just for menopause/manopause. Many men and women in their late 30s and 40s utilize forms of HRT for the improvement of libido, weight, and mental focus.

Can I cancel my membership?

We understand that your needs may change, and we want to help you through whatever transitions you're making. If you need to cancel, we would appreciate a 30-day notice. Your Integrative/Concierge membership is not refundable.
